A Level student explores identity for Chinese New Year

 NULC student Sio Leong has been working on a project that explores her identity as part of her Art and Design course.

Sio Leong, aged 16 from Blurton studies A Levels in  Art and Design, Biology, Law and Psychology at NULC’s Sixth Form Centre on Knutton Lane. 

Sio kindly agreed to share her work when the College’s Equality & Diversity Advisor approached her to talk about the College’s forthcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. 






Sio was born in Macau Near Hong Kong, where she lived for the first five years of her life before coming to live in Britain, she chose to explore cityscapes and the architecture of her birth town, leading to some very spectacular colours and effects. 

Chinese New Year on Monday 23 January 2012 and it is the year of the Dragon.  The College has organised a range of events to mark the day.  Throughout the week the Food Hall will be adding a variety of Chinese food to their menu.
